SCOTUS to Decide Whether or Not to Keep Murdering Babies

For thousands of years, human beings have considered a pregnant woman to be “with child,” and to be carrying a living, growing, developing baby in her womb. So why are so many people confused about the very basic right to life as well as the value God has placed on every single human life created in His image?

Abortion took center stage again Wednesday as the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments over whether or not Mississippi’s ban on abortions after 15 weeks gestation is constitutional. If only we believed a very basic truth shared every year around Christmastime from the history involving the birth of Jesus Christ – and the pregnancy of His mother.

It’s fascinating the judicial branch of the U.S. government is kicking off Christmas season by taking up a case about the life-eliminating act of abortion.

But regardless of the confusion and progressive propaganda, we know exactly what God said not only about when a human life is conceived, but about the value He places on it as well as why a baby in the womb should be protected.

Just look at part of Christmas history in Luke, chapter one, when a Messenger from God was sent to Mary saying she would conceive in her womb and give birth to a son, giving Him the name Jesus. Mary then traveled to a city near Judah to visit Zechariah, a priest from the tribe of Judah, and his wife, Elizabeth (pregnant at the time with John the Baptist).

When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 And she cried out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! Luke 1:41-44

Did you catch that? To God, what the left calls a clump or a fetus, He declares is a baby. Also notice Elizabeth’s child (John) jumped for joy in his mother’s womb, acknowledging the unborn Jesus in Mary’s womb! Talk about a baby kicking. Then Mary praised her Savior and exalted Jesus. Check out verses 46-47:

And Mary said: “My soul exalts the Lord, 47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

Please don’t miss this overlooked fact that Mary worships the Lord, her Savior.

But sadly, for many today, it matters little what the Bible teaches. Heck, this is yet another issue in which they could care less about the so-called science they claim to follow. They claimed ignorance in the 70s about life at conception.

However, God, the Bible, science and technology shout the truth about human life in the womb. Are we listening?

So the Supreme Court heard arguments this week involving state regulations on abortion in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case. Keep an eye on this one because their decision on Mississippi’s law could lead to a groundbreaking shift in the abortion debate. Will SCOTUS overturn a tragic mistake?

Could it actually overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that once upon a time invented a right to abortion in 1973? At the very least, shouldn’t the states decide? This is what Mississippi is doing by challenging a precedent set in ‘73 and 1992 in Casey v. Planned Parenthood, a ruling that individual states cannot ban pre-viability abortions – those committed before a child can survive outside the womb.

Iowa Governor, Kim Reynolds elaborates on the topic:

“The question in the case is simple, yet it lies at the heart of the American experiment. Does the U.S. Constitution require states to withhold legal protection from an entire class of defenseless human beings? According to any straightforward reading of the Constitution, the answer to that question has always been a resounding no.”

Ever since Jesus, the Ten Commandments, prayer, and Bible reading were expelled from progressive government schools many decades ago, abortion has been one of the most contentious topics in America. Is there a connection here?

This has birthed deep moral and theological questions as the gruesome act of abortion has been well marketed as a fundamental right, a choice, and has been framed as a political issue rather than a moral one. What should we conclude?

Abortion must be abolished. End the slaughter! Do not tolerate any justification for eradicating human life.

A win next year on this case would be a good thing, but the political ping pong with babies’ lives will continue. Moreover, a 15-week abortion ban won’t stop the majority of pregnancy terminations which make up about 90% of abortions nationwide. In other words, a majority of the killing takes place in the first trimester. We need to pray for the best option which is for the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade.

In 2018, Mississippi passed the Gestational Age Act to limit elective abortion after 15 weeks of gestation. We clearly know so much more about what goes on inside a mother’s womb than we did in 1973, including the fact unborn babies feel pain by 15 weeks.

Katherine Beck Johnson from the Family Research Council was optimistic after hearing oral arguments Wednesday and thinks the majority will uphold the law. She spoke to the crowd gathered outside the court saying:

“The pro-aborts claim that my daughter must be able the kill her child to achieve her goals, they claim that the child in my womb has no legal right to exist. We reject these lies. We know that my daughter and little girls everywhere not only deserve the right to exist but are able to dream of their careers and families too. They know the child in my womb, though small, is a unique person who deserves to live. We fight for these children, the littlest, and most vulnerable ones in our society. We call on the Supreme Court to finally recognize Mississippi and every other state’s right to protect the unborn.”

According to a new article from the Gospel Coalition, modern technological advances have provided “a front-row seat to the miraculous voyage of life that occurs between fertilization and birth.” For example, at just fifteen weeks, an unborn baby’s heart has already beat more than 15 million times. Doctors can also tell whether a baby is right- or left-handed based on which thumb the baby prefers to suck.

But not enough concerned citizens and Christians have asked why a nation such as ours has allowed the holocaust of abortion and the shedding of innocent blood to continue.

There’s a reason why the Christian church in many countries send missionaries to America to preach the gospel of repentance and evangelize what they call “the immoral, decadent West.” The Gospel Coalition staff writes:

“The United States has taken an extreme position on abortion compared to the rest of the world. We’re one of just a handful of countries that permit elective abortion past five months of pregnancy, placing us in the company of China and North Korea. Roe places no limits on late-term abortion, and in some states, abortion is legal throughout all nine months of pregnancy. In contrast, most of Europe limits elective abortion even prior to 15 weeks, making the Mississippi law at the center of Dobbs liberal in comparison.”

In the nearly 50 years since Roe, America has eliminated life on a massive scale, well over 60 million pre-born babies, while science makes it clear the Bible was right all along.

Researcher, George Barna and others have revealed the abysmal statistics showing that – not surprisingly – only six percent of Americans have a biblical worldview. So-called Christians don’t fare much better; only 21 percent of those who regularly attend evangelical churches have a biblical worldview. It’s no wonder abortion is still permitted.

Other surveys line up with how people vote in elections. More than 60 percent of Americans support pro-abortion Democrats in part because just 60 percent of professing born-again Christians say human life is sacred. When it comes to the general public, only 39 percent believe life is sacred and worth protecting.

It may be too late, but it is imperative we get back to the Bible! Regarding the personhood of unborn children, Psalm 139:13-16 states:

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. . . . My frame was not hidden from you, when I was made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

In the Dobbs case out of Mississippi, the highest court in the land will consider a single question that goes to the heart of Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey: are all pre-viability prohibitions on elective abortion unconstitutional?

Do unborn children who are made in God’s image and possess inherent dignity deserve the right to be born? Most people know what the Bible teaches, but the court’s decision could have major implications for states’ ability to limit abortion. Stay tuned!
